We are here when you need us most...
Having a sick or injured child can be terrifying, not just for the kid, but for the entire family.
At 406 for Kids we know that, and when you need it most, we’ll be right there with a smile, a hug, a soft ear, to run an errand or give a much needed break leaving families more time and energy to spend on the really important stuff…helping their child get better.

We Turn Crappy Into Happy!
On July 1, 2022, "The Sunshine Factory" opened its doors to Montana families to begin serving its mission as a "home away from home" for Logan Health Children's patients and their families.

This 5,000 square foot home offers a quiet space where guests can spend a few hours enjoying a bit of peace and quiet, a warm meal and, most importantly, re-charging, relaxing and rejuvenating to better support their children when they return to the hospital.
Sunny Bear
Meet Sunny Bear!
Sunny Bear was born on February 13, 2020 at Logan Health Children's.

A bouncy, bright rainbow bear weighing in at two and 1/2 pounds!

Since the day he was born, everyone who meets him can’t help but pop a grin from ear to ear. His favorite past time is to make children and grown-ups smile.

He turns Crappy into Happy!

And Sunny gives the best hugs too! Anyone who is scared or frightened and just needs the comfort of a nice, warm hug can count on Sunny! He’s soft, has nice long, huggable arms and even has beans in his bottom to help him sit better.

When Sunny is not making kids smile, he is learning everything he can about Childhood Wellness and wants to share his fun facts with all the kids in the Flathead Valley.

Our Story
Lori Williamson's journey towards founding 406 for Kids started almost exactly 30 years ago.

It was when she began working in the Human Resources Department at a large paper mill in Missoula.

She was blessed to have two beautiful, vibrant, healthy daughters, she saw, on nearly a daily basis, many, many families who were not so lucky.

Lori's greatest joy was helping them during their most trying times. Sometimes it was "requisitioning" the corporate jet to fly a very sick kid to a distant city for life saving treatment. Other times it was something as simple as sharing a cup of coffee and a box of Kleenex with a distraught father.

From there Lori served on the Board of Directors for the United Way and the Missoula Youth Homes. She also worked with the Missoula Children's Theatre and Watson's Children's Home and in many, many other similar volunteer positions.

For Lori, it has ALWAYS been about the children and their families. It's not only her passion, but her calling, her very reason for living.

She knew that just as soon as she could, she would leave the corporate world to do what she really loved doing, full-time…helping families when they need it the most.

That time is now and that place is here, in Kalispell, Montana supporting pediatric patients and their families being served by world-class doctors and nurses at the Montana Children's Medical Center.

Join us on this incredible journey for the far greater good!
A warm, home away from home during the struggles of childhood illness and injury, the Sunshine Factory will be just steps from the front door of Montana Children’s.

Opening in 2021, the Sunshine Factory will offer a quiet space away from the noise and chaos of the hospital.  A serenity floor for Momma, a playroom for siblings, and a common space to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet, and a warm meal to temporarily forget the struggles next door at the hospital.

The Sunshine Factory is a respite home built for the Montana Children’s patients and their families by the Flathead Valley Community.
